La Direction de la SBM (Société des Bains de Mer) souhaitait créer un lieu spécifique de musique live au coeur historique de MONACO.
Seul n'était pas utilisé un sous-sol réservé au stockage mais ne présentant ni le volume nécessaire ni la surface.
Il a donc fallu (sans arrêter un seul jour le fonctionnement public des salles de jeux se trouvant au-dessus), creuser de près de 2 mètres le sol actuel en repoussant le bâtiment en sous-oeuvre... opération très délicate.
Agrandir considérablement le bassin extérieur dans le jardin pour créer un accès direct pour le public.
Cette descente se fait entre deux murs d'eau.
Si le volume devenait ainsi exploitable et permettait la création d'un scène, d'une salle et d'une régie son / lumière, il manquait encore 250 m² !Ces m² ont été creusés dans la roche pour y installer sanitaires, locaux techniques, bureaux et loges.
Seules une volonté politique et des entreprises hors du commun ont permis la réalisation de ce site unique.

The only place avalable and never used was a basement stock area but did'nt present the volume and the surface necessary.
An excavation had to be done (the public games above were continually open, not even one day closed), while underpinning the building 2 meters down under the existing level floor... most delicate process.
The external ornemantal basin located in the garden was greatly enlarged as to create a direct access for the public.
One goes down the steps between two waterfall walls.
If the volume was now workable with the possibility to create the stage and a sound/light control room, but there were still 250 sq.m missing !
This additional surface required has been found by excavating the rock, thus, toilets, technical rooms, offices and stage-boxes could be installed.
Only a politic will as also exceptional companies made possible the completion of this unique site.

Le film du MOOD'S
Depuis les premiers travaux de reprise en sous-oeuvre du bâtiment (pour retrouver une hauteur sous-plafond compatible avec un lieu de musique live), la création des structures, des passerelles, des protections acoustiques, le creusement dans le rocher de 200 m² d'espaces (loges, bureaux, sanitaires), le grand agrandissement du bassin offrant un accès direct au studio entre deux murs d'eau.
Dans une deuxième partie, c'est une visite dans l'ensemble aménagé vide en attendant l'étourdissement et l'éblouissement de l'inauguration par Son Altesse Sérénissime le Prince Albert.
Enfin, une troisième partie fait vivre le "MOOD'S" pendant un concert.
The whole performance is shown in a film realized by ….... and pictures by Alain DOVIFAT.
From the first underpinning works into the builing (as to give a height under ceiling compatible with a place for music live), the creation of structures, footbridges, acoustic protections, excavations into the rock creates 200 sq.m for new spaces (stage-boxes, offices, toilets) and a great enlarging of the ornemental basin which gives now a direct access into the studio between two waterfalls walls.
In the second part of the film, one can visit the entire volume fitted but empty just waiting for the dizzy spell and the dazzling of the Opening celebrated by Son Altesse Sérénissime le Prince Albert.
Finally, the second part provides a life to the MOOD'S during a concert.
